How to Refresh & Modernize a Legacy Trampoline Park

CEDAR HILL CASE STUDY

Fresh start for Dallas area trampoline park
NEW OWNER RENOVATES TO MAXIMIZE HIS INVESTMENT
The new owner of Altitude Trampoline Park in Cedar Hill, TX, Sunny Budhwani, saw potential for his new business and was ready to give it an overdue refresh. He chose to immediately invest in repairs and a few smart upgrades, but he didn’t quite know where to begin. A couple conversations with team Fun Spot followed by a few rounds of drawings and renderings of his space, and he was headed in the right direction.
After listening carefully to Sunny's insights and ideas, we identified three main goals for the project, and three pretty big hurdles that had to be overcome.
Goals:
- Improve competitive position in the suburban Dallas community.
- Optimize the new owner's investment by lowering liability risk and increasing revenue-building opportunities.
- Give guests a reason to come back again and again.
Main Hurdles:
- Deferred maintenance made the park appear dated and unsafe. Low quality and poorly designed attractions presented potential safety issues.
- The park was experiencing waning competitiveness due to its dated appearance..
- Limited phase 1 budget had to deliver noticeable improvements.
The Results:
Altitude Cedar Hill's brand is stronger, liability from potentially hazardous equipment is reduced, and park guests are loving the new gaming technology and updated appearance.
Upgrades deliver excitement and improved operations.

Must Pass Inspection!
The new owner inherited a few issues that troubled local inspectors. A re-engineered airbag entry feature, new mats and pads, and carpet-backed foam to eliminate slipping hazards brings this park up to ASTM compliance.

"Active listening is our super power. When we understand a client's vision, the right solutions become obvious."
– Alexa Landrum, Fun Spot Marketing and Sales Leader
THE IMPACT
New form and better function.
TECHNOLOGY AND CUSTOM GRAPHICS TO THE RESCUE
Basketball dunk lanes, one of the most popular areas of the park, were upgraded with Battle Basket technology from Rugged Interactive. New graphic boards, mats and pads (made in the USA by the Fun Spot team!) increased eye appeal and draws even bigger crowds.

NEW AIRBAG ENTRY FIXES ASTM COMPLIANCE ISSUE
An inflatable staircase adjacent to the airbag seemed like a good idea to the previous owner, but the unstable structure presented safety risks and kept the park from passing inspection. It was replaced with trampoline launch pads in updated colors (expertly manufactured by the Fun Spot team in the USA!). High quality carpet-backed foam surrounding the area gives a uniform look and eliminates slip hazards.

THE SOLUTIONS
Game-Changing Updates
After listening to Sunny and his team, we came up with ways to solve their problems and address their upgrade wish list. Next, custom floorpans and 3D renderings helped them envision the options. They decided to focus on updating 3 areas and introduced new digital attractions.
